The only way we REALLY learn Spanish is through music. We may learn little phrases at times, but we learn so much more through the music. It helps us to understand the different verbs, pronouns, and pronunciation of Spanish. If music is taken away, we may lose our chance for communication. We compare a lot to Spanish; the only difference is that “they” speak a different language, and their words of Spanish are written differently from ours. I learn something new every year about a different culture, especially through all kinds of music. It’s my way of connecting with them without even knowing I do. Music is a part of me, and it has created Spanish as one of my more important things to learn. If music is taken away, will there really be a chance we can learn what we need to know?

We translated then rapped the song in Spanish. It put the African-American and Spanish Cultures together; it was a great learning experience!

The rhythm of [the hip-hop songs] makes them interesting.... The Spanish lyrics with the Hip-Hop Music also can be a motivation to students.

We have to know Spanish in our communities because Spanish people are expanding more in our communities.

Music is communication. It sometimes sends messages to other peiople. Most rappers like Yo Gotti, Gucci Man, and up and coming rappers rap in English and Spanish. I think it's a good thing because it connecnts with people who can't speak English. Rap is not only an American culture thing; it's made for all cultures to do.
