Each class will vote on a video/song not produced by their period. The top vote getter will receive 100 points for all participating.
Hip-Hop Countdown (en español)

On April 24, 2008 you will record your music video, once with a voice-over, and once with instrumental accompaniment. On Monday April 27, we will watch other videos and vote.
Performance Task: In order to demonstrate an understanding of the classroom and community vocabulary studied in Spanish, students will produce a music video using at least 10 vocabulary words. Students are responsible for assigning roles, designing props, accurate pronunciation, and integration of culture. Each class will produce a video/audio track in line with the goals of the class that will be voted on by the class, and each class will vote on the top five videos produced to arrange the countdown and decide bonus points.
ACTFL Standards: 1.2, 1.3, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2
Standard 1.2-Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.
Standard 1.3-Students present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics.
Standard 4.1-Students demonstrate understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of the language studied and their own.
Standard 4.2-Students demonstrate understanding of the concept of culture through comparisons of the cultures studied and their own.
Standard 5.1-Students use the language both within and beyond the school setting.
Standard 5.2-Students show evidence of becoming life-long learners by using the language for personal enjoyment and enrichment.
Performance Task Dimensions
1. Participation and Creativity: With your classmates, you must design a creative way to express the language used in the song. You will respect other ideas and not make fun of your classmates.
2. Translation and Pronunciation: You will translate the lyrics of your song (write in English and Spanish). You will also sing the lyrics (or participate in one of the other roles of production) with appropriate pronunciation.
3. Pride: your video must include orange and black, bulldogs, or some element of school pride.
4. Summary: Your narrative includes an introductory sentence, explanations of what was done, at least one source, and two of the 5 C’s (Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, Communities).
5. Bonus: Classes will vote on one of the other videos produced. The class with the most votes from other classes will receive a 100 point bonus.
